What the Kickr Core 2 does
The unit mounts to a road bike. From there it connects to iOS, Android, or PC over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, allowing training apps to adjust resistance automatically mid-workout. Interactive riding platforms can use the same connection to replicate inclines and pace group events in real time. Zwift, one of the more widely used of those platforms, supports the trainer for group rides, challenges, and races with other users.
ANT+ lets the trainer pull data directly from heart rate monitors and cadence sensors, without an additional bridge device.
The Cog and Click version adds handlebar-mounted controllers for in-ride virtual gear shifts. The cassette model skips the controllers and ships instead with the 11-speed cassette already fitted.
