EVANSVILLE, Ind., Oct. 21. Old National Bancorp posted record third-quarter 2026 earnings applicable to common shareholders of $250.0 million, equivalent to $0.66 per diluted share. Adjusted net income applicable to common shares was $249.7 million, with adjusted earnings per share also at $0.66.

Chairman and CEO Jim Ryan stated that the results reflect the strength and consistency of the company's operating model, driven by a disciplined focus on fundamentals. Ryan noted that this approach continues to drive profitable growth, positive operating leverage, and value creation for shareholders, positioning the company to capitalize on opportunities across its franchise.

Net interest income on a fully taxable equivalent basis increased to $592.0 million from $586.5 million in the prior quarter. Total deposit costs rose by 8 basis points to 179 basis points, while interest-bearing deposit costs increased by 8 basis points to 231 basis points.

Total deposits at period-end reached $57.6 billion, representing a 10.6% annualized increase. Average total deposits for the third quarter were $56.9 billion, an increase of $1.3 billion from the previous period. The loan-to-deposit ratio stood at 89%, providing strong liquidity combined with existing funding sources.

Total loans at period-end were $51.2 billion, up $362.3 million or 2.9% annualized. This growth included $148.0 million in commercial and industrial loans and $157.3 million in commercial real estate loans. Excluding pre-tax gains from the settlement of the Bremer pension plan, noninterest income was $127.5 million compared to $140.4 million previously. Noninterest expense was $355.4 million, including $0.7 million of merger-related charges. Adjusted noninterest expense decreased to $354.7 million from $360.1 million, resulting in a record adjusted efficiency ratio of 44.9%, compared to 45.2% previously.
