Ravens' Kyle Hamilton predicted game-winning interception after seeing Tua Tagovailoa
Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton predicted his game-winning interception against the Atlanta Falcons after watching quarterback Tua Tagovailoa enter the game in overtime, teammate Marlon Humphrey said. On a recent episode of "The Marlon Humphrey Show," Humphrey recalled Hamilton's reaction after the Ravens scored to take a 30-23 lead in the extra period. "Kyle (looked across the field) and was like, 'Tua in the game!'", Humphrey said. He added that Hamilton appeared confident he would secure the pick, stating, "He knew he was going to get a pick. He literally was like, 'Oh, he better throw me one.'" Humphrey described Hamilton as the most excited he had probably seen him, though he noted he did not know if Hamilton possessed specific knowledge about the upcoming play. The interception marked Hamilton's first of the season and the sixth of his career. Tagovailoa had entered late in the fourth quarter to replace Michael Penix Jr., who left the game after sustaining a hit to the ribs. Penix returned for one play before overtime, but Tagovailoa led the Falcons' offense following the Ravens' score. Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Wednesday that Penix is expected to start in Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears, which would return Tagovailoa to backup duties. The Falcons' offensive production dropped significantly when both Penix and Tagovailoa were injured earlier in the season, with Cooper Rush at quarterback resulting in just 16 points over the first two weeks. Upon Penix's return, the offense scored 80 points against the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints, the highest total in the NFL for that stretch. Tagovailoa threw 15 interceptions in 14 starts last season.
