NFL running back Cordarrelle Patterson arrested in Tennessee

Cordarrelle Patterson was arrested over the weekend on charges arising from an alleged domestic dispute with his wife. TMZ reported that the former Pro Bowl running back was taken into custody following a call to police at his home in Tennessee. The arrest warrant, cited by the outlet, detailed allegations made by Patterson's wife, who told officers that he grabbed her hair and left arm during the incident. She stated she feared for her own safety and that of their three children. Police found bruising on her arm when they arrived at the residence. Patterson was booked into the Sevier County jail and subsequently released on a $1,000 bond. A mugshot released by authorities showed him smiling. The couple married in 2024 after being together since 2014. Patterson, 35, was drafted 29th overall by the Minnesota Vikings in 2013 out of Tennessee. He spent four seasons with Minnesota before playing for the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He holds the NFL record for career kick return touchdowns with nine. Patterson was released by the Steelers during training camp in 2025 and has not signed with a team since.
