NEW YORK, October 26. Nasdaq, Inc. (Nasdaq: NDAQ) announced the appointment of Börje Ekholm to its Board of Directors, effective November 1, 2026, while Holden Spaht will resign from the board effective December 31, 2026. Ekholm will serve as a member of the Audit & Risk Committee.

Ekholm previously served as President and CEO of Ericsson from January 2017 to September 2026, a role in which he led the company's transformation into a global leader in 5G and communications technology. He also held the positions of President and CEO of Investor AB and previously served as Chair of the Nasdaq Board of Directors.

Adena Friedman, Chair and CEO of Nasdaq, stated that Ekholm's return brings strategic vision and operational discipline, citing his successful transformation of Ericsson into a stronger, more competitive organization. Friedman added that his global technology expertise and track record of driving innovation will support Nasdaq's strategic agenda.

Ekholm currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Trimble Inc. (Nasdaq: TRMB). His previous board assignments include Alibaba, Husqvarna, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Scania, and WM Data. He also advises Mars on board matters, serves as an advisor to Ericsson's CEO, and sits on the board of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce New York.

In a statement, Ekholm said he is honored to rejoin Nasdaq's Board during its strategic evolution. He described Nasdaq as a leading force in global capital markets and the broader technology and financial ecosystem, expressing his intent to work with fellow directors and management to advance Nasdaq's role as an industry transformation partner.

Holden Spaht joined the Nasdaq Board in November 2023 following the acquisition of Adenza. He will conclude his service at year-end after three years as a director. During his tenure, Nasdaq accelerated its transformation into a technology platform for the global financial system and completed the integration of Adenza. The company also achieved its synergy and deleveraging targets ahead of schedule and raised its medium-term revenue outlook.

Spaht noted that Nasdaq maintained its position as the leading U.S. listing exchange and strengthened its anti-financial crime and regulatory technology offerings during his time on the board. He cited sustained growth across Nasdaq's Solutions businesses as part of the company's accomplishments.

Spaht stated that he is confident Nasdaq will continue to advance its position as a leading technology and solutions provider under Adena Friedman's leadership. He expressed gratitude for his experience with the board and management team.

Friedman expressed the Board's gratitude to Spaht for his service during a significant period for Nasdaq. She described his insights and counsel as valuable in advancing the company's strategic vision and strengthening its position in the global financial system.
