Flip 7 hardware and features
The Flip 7 is roughly the size of a water bottle. JBL rates the unit IP68 for dust and water resistance and says it withstands drops of up to one meter onto concrete. Each purchase includes an interchangeable carrying strap and a carabiner clip for backpack attachment.
Battery life is rated at 14 hours per charge. Engaging JBL's Playtime Boost mode adds two more hours. The speaker connects with multiple compatible JBL units for bigger sound, according to the company. JBL's AI Sound Boost feature is designed to reduce distortion at higher volumes. For devices and services that support the format, the Flip 7 accepts lossless audio over USB-C, which JBL says delivers clearer, more detailed playback than Bluetooth.
