Costa Rica seeks woman suspected in American's death in Playas del Coco

Costa Rican authorities are searching for an unidentified woman suspected of homicide after a 74-year-old American citizen was found dead at a condominium in Playas del Coco on Sept. 27. The Judicial Investigation Agency, which functions as Costa Rica's equivalent of the FBI, stated that the agency is seeking public assistance to identify the suspect. The victim, identified by authorities only as "Fleming," entered the condo at 4:50 p.m. on Sept. 27 in the seaside town, which is located on the northern Pacific coast. Officials reported that the woman was allegedly seen leaving the property without him. Subsequent searches by authorities located his body, which officials said had head injuries likely caused by blunt objects. The suspect has not yet been identified. Authorities described her as having a fair complexion, a slender build, and black hair, with a height of approximately 1.60 meters. At the time of the alleged homicide, the woman was wearing blue denim shorts, sandals, and a white bra featuring chain-like accessories. Police released security video showing the woman walking down a street with another female companion. The Judicial Investigation Agency has requested that individuals with details regarding the event or the suspect's identity reach out to 800-800-0645. Fox News Digital contacted the State Department to seek a response.
