Chick-fil-A will launch Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce at restaurants nationwide on Nov. 16, marking the first addition to its permanent sauce lineup in 10 years. The Atlanta-based company told Fox News Digital that the new condiment will be available in standard dipping cups and 8-ounce bottles.
The sauce combines the chain's classic mustard notes and smoky tang with spicy peppers and subtle sweetness. Allison Duncan, Chick-fil-A's director of menu and packaging, stated that the menu team aimed to honor the original flavor while creating a distinct experience. "We know our guests love bold, spicy flavors, and in our year of newstalgia, we're turning up the heat on a classic," Duncan said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
The company noted that research conducted over the past year found customers consistently identified a spicy version of the signature sauce as the item they most wanted added to the menu. Earlier this year, Chick-fil-A tested spicy chicken strips at two locations in Georgia.
Reaction to the announcement has been mixed online. Some Reddit users welcomed the potential addition, while others expressed skepticism about whether the sauce would deliver sufficient heat. One user wrote that many food items labeled "spicy" often lack actual kick, stating they were skeptical of this product as well. Another commenter joked that they no longer would need to mix Chick-fil-A Sauce and Buffalo sauce to create their own blend.
Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce follows Sweet & Spicy Sriracha, which was introduced in 2016 as the last new permanent sauce added to the lineup. The chain's original Chick-fil-A Sauce made its nationwide debut in 2006. The company's first sauces, Honey Mustard, Barbeque and Polynesian flavors, arrived at restaurants in 1984.
