Bloom Energy shares closed at $193.30 on the New York Stock Exchange, falling 11.24% on October 23, 2026. The decline occurred despite the company reporting a significant increase in third-quarter revenue. Investors reacted to negative operating cash flow figures and anticipated heavier expansion spending following an earnings report that exceeded expectations and raised guidance.

Trading activity intensified during the session. Volume reached 34.7 million shares. This figure was approximately 117% higher than the three-month average of 15.9 million shares. Bloom Energy, a provider of solid-oxide fuel cell systems, has seen its stock price rise 672% since its initial public offering in 2018.

The broader market reflected a similar trend of modest losses. The S&P 500 index closed at 7,623, down 0.53%, while the Nasdaq Composite finished at 25,955, a decrease of 0.21%. Peer companies in the stationary fuel cell and distributed onsite power systems sector showed mixed results. Plug Power closed unchanged at $1.38, whereas FuelCell Energy ended the day at $11.11, down 4.06%.

Bloom Energy's solid-oxide fuel cell systems are positioned for data center power needs, a sector driving substantial demand. Consequently, revenue surged 138% year over year in the third quarter. Although investors had anticipated this growth trajectory, many chose to sell after shares climbed more than 122% earlier this year. The company reiterated its full-year revenue guidance upward, yet market focus shifted to capital generation and spending requirements.

The quarter resulted in negative free cash flow of $181 million. This metric prompted selling pressure among holders. As production capacity expands to meet strong demand, the stock now sits 44% below its recent high. This pullback offers a different valuation perspective for investors who view the data center infrastructure build-out as a long-term trend.
