Gianrico Farrugia said, as he presses the federal government to push other hospitals toward the same approach.
Farrugia, a gastroenterologist, said most hospitals lack the technology, money, systems, and focus to use health data the way Mayo does.
Federal intervention with what he called "carrots and sticks" is needed to compel a new data architecture, he said. "None of this works unless health data is arranged maximally for humans and AI agents," Farrugia said.
