Comedian Bill Maher stated on Thursday that the Democratic Party has not renounced its radical elements. He believes this stance could create significant challenges for the party in the 2028 presidential election.
In an interview with Chris Cuomo on The Chris Cuomo Project, Maher argued that despite expectations of a Republican defeat in the upcoming midterm elections, the Democrats remain committed to policies he describes as communist.
He noted that many within the far left will misinterpret a potential Trump loss as validation for their current direction. Specifically, he cited the party's approach to means of production and private industries.
Maher acknowledged that the moderate wing of the Democratic Party is currently restrained in its criticism of these internal factions due to their political energy.
