Jason Jones, the co-creator of the Halo and Destiny video game series, wrote a novel depicting an artificial intelligence takeover of the world.
The manuscript, described as an oral history of fictional events, features approximately 100 characters located across 40 countries who each detail the AI uprising from their own perspectives.
In 2019, Jones shared this manuscript with author Margaret Stohl, with whom he had previously worked at Bungie, seeking her opinion on the work.
Upon reviewing the text, Stohl recognized the potential for the concept to expand beyond a single book.
